Meadows Glen

When Covid 19 is over, here is the perfect remedy. Set on 100 acres and bounded by National Park on 3 sides, this property offers absolute serenity and seclusion. Although the local area has loads of attractions such as boutique wineries, sight seeing, bush walking & 4 wheel driving, once you arrive you will not want to leave.
The rustic cottage consists of 3 bedrooms each with queen beds, lounge and kitchen combined, bathroom with composting toilet and a 2nd lounge room with it's own slow combustion fire. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to cook and serve everything from simple meals to an elaborate gourmet spread. You only need to bring along the food that you would like to cook. We also provide the essentials such as salt, pepper, spices and olive oil, tea and coffee. The outdoor cooking centre has a slow cook Webber, a baby Webber Q, a 6 burner hot plate BBQ and a hooded 5 burner BBQ so you are covered for any type meal you need to cook.
Linen hire is available @ $25.00 per person.
Access to the property is via a maintained dirt road (about 13 km). Whilst there is no need for a 4WD vehicle, it is required when wet and the last section has some deep pot holes (all part of the adventure)!
If you feel like exploring the area by car, we are not far from several boutique wineries in and around Wollombi such as Cedar Creek and Undercliff wineries. We highly recommend them. There is also the Wollombi pub and the Laguna Wine Bar which both serve food and drink if you feel like socialising with the locals or join in the Friday night jam session.

As the house is on 100 acres of bush, we also recommend bushwalking. Follow the track to the left of the house and in just a few minutes you will be a different world again, a vivid green rain forest that will take your breath away.
Take a drive back out to the gate and turn left onto the Mt. Finchley track.
Finchley Trig and Finchley Aboriginal Area (Yengo National Park)
Finchley Trig offers 360-degree views over the park, with a viewing platform and interpretation board, and a well-preserved aboriginal engraving site nearby. In dry conditions Finchley Trig is accessible by 2WD from Laguna, via Yango Creek Road and then Upper Yango Creek Road (approx 10km dirt road). The Aboriginal area features numerous engravings on a large rock platform.

The name "Wollombi" is derived from the Aboriginal meaning "meeting place" or "meeting of the waters'", and prior to European settlement Wollombi held great significance for local Aboriginal tribes who used the area as a ceremonial meeting place. In particular, Mt Yengo was a major focus of Aboriginal culture, being directly connected to the dreamtime story of the creation of the earth.

Today rock carvings and cave paintings found in the area stand as a visual reminder of the spiritual ties Aborigines held with the region. The Hunter Valley is home to over 300 Aboriginal sites dating back over 13,000 years, and well-preserved Aboriginal engravings can be viewed in a number of locations in Yengo National Park and the Watagans.
